An expedition through the spectacular arctic borderlands of Finland, Sweden, and Norway

Lapland Private Experience

Our expedition begins in the Saami village of Markkina in Finnish Lapland. While your luggage is delivered to the villa, we will prepare the equipment and you will set off on your snowmobile adventure. Our route leads to the Swedish border where, in 1736, the famous French mathematician Pierre Maupertuis led an expedition that proved Isaac Newton’s theorem on the shape of the Earth. Maupertuis’ renowned Swedish colleague, Anders Selcius (the inventor of the thermometer, no less) also participated in this expedition. Your lunch will be prepared in camp right in the heart of untouched Lappish nature by a renowned chef.
You will then depart the beauty of Swedish Lapland and drive your snowmobiles northwards to the Norwegian border, where our good friend Lars Bjørklund will welcome you into his wilderness lodge. In the afternoon the sky will quickly darken, ushering in the polar night. Finally, you will head back to your villa on the Finnish side of the border to share your memories of a wonderful trip with one another over a fire and hot drinks.
